f0a0013da9 fix(charts): round series values to the currency's display precision (#3091)
* fix(charts): round chart values to the currency's display precision

Charts are drawn from the serialized amounts, not from the formatted strings,
so a sub-unit residue plotted as a visible move between two points that both
read $0.00, and the trend between them reported a change. Round in
`Series#as_json` so the series values stay exact for insights, goals and the
assistant.

Also hide the percentage when the previous value is zero, since that makes it
infinite.

* fix(charts): round the two payloads that bypass Series#as_json

`NetWorthBreakdownSeriesBuilder` builds its payload by hand, so the reports
chart never went through the rounding added in `Series#as_json` and still
plotted raw amounts: adjacent points printing the same value rendered a
visible move, and the tooltip it inherits reported a change between them.

`Series#trend` had the same gap on the server side. It is rendered right above
the chart by `UI::Account::Chart` and by the reports summary, so an account
going from 0 to a sub-cent residue showed a coloured $0.00 change next to a
flat line.

Rounding the trend can make a previously finite percentage infinite, so guard
the three views that render `percent_formatted` without checking, as
`shared/_trend_change` already does.

markhainesandClaude Opus 5 5a0723bb84 fix(generators): stop provider:family emitting a broken migration and invalid enum (#3047)
* fix(generators): stop provider:family emitting a broken migration and invalid enum

Two bugs in the per-family provider generator, both of which stop the generated code
from running at all.

1. Duplicate migration columns. The items table already defines institution_id,
institution_name, status and others, but any matching field passed on the command
line was emitted a second time in the provider-specific block, so db:migrate aborted
with "you can't define an already defined column". Reserved names are now filtered
out of that block, with a notice, since the standard column serves the same purpose.

2. Invalid Ruby in the source enums. The patcher appended the new entry directly before
the closing brace. In a multi-line hash the previous entry is followed by a newline,
so the inserted text landed on its own line after Ruby had already ended the
   expression, producing:

       redbark: "redbark"
     , gocardless: "gocardless"}

data_enrichment.rb then failed to parse, surfacing later as a confusing eager-load
error rather than anything pointing at the generator. The comma is now attached to
the final entry and the new entry indented to match its siblings. The single-line
form used by provider_merchant.rb is preserved.

Found while adding a GoCardless provider; both reproduce with any invocation of
rails g provider:family.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

* fix(generators): add the syncable scope the family syncer requires

The generated item model includes Syncable, so Family::Syncer's reflective discovery
picks up the new `*_items` association and calls `syncable` on it. The template never
defined that scope, so a freshly generated provider raises

NoMethodError: undefined method 'syncable' for an instance of
    ActiveRecord::Associations::CollectionProxy
    app/models/family/syncer.rb:38

and takes down the ENTIRE nightly family sync, not just the new provider. Every other
item model in the app defines `scope :syncable, -> { active }`; the template now does
the same.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

* fix(generators): emit valid i18n interpolation in the locale template

The locale template wrote %%{count} where I18n expects %{count}. Rails generator ERB
does not collapse %% (percent trim mode only applies to lines starting with %), so the
doubled percent reached the generated file verbatim and I18n rendered it as a literal
percent sign followed by the placeholder.

Every generated provider therefore displayed strings like

    %{count} accounts synced

instead of the count. 40 occurrences across sync status, institution summary, account
setup and error messages. Every hand-written locale in the app uses the single-percent
form.

* fix(generators): reject reserved field names instead of silently dropping them

Addresses review feedback on the duplicate-column fix.

Filtering reserved names out of the migration alone was inconsistent: parsed_fields
also feeds the item model (validations, encryption), the settings panel (form inputs),
the controller params, the locale strings, the adapter and the SDK. A declared
institution_id:integer would therefore render a numeric form input and a presence
validation over the built-in string column. Declaring a reserved name is now a
Thor::Error naming the field and telling the user to drop it, which keeps the generated
code self-consistent and fails at generate time rather than at db:migrate.

Also removes 'family' from the reserved list. The migration writes
t.references :family, which creates family_id, so a field named family is not a
collision; family_id remains reserved.

Verified: institution_id is rejected with a useful message, family:string generates
cleanly, and an ordinary invocation is unchanged.

* fix(generators): do not double the comma when the source enum has a trailing one

Addresses review feedback. When the enum hash is written with a trailing comma, the
captured body already ends with a separator, so appending another produced

    redbark: "redbark",,
    gocardless: "gocardless"

which is the same class of syntax error the surrounding fix exists to prevent. The
separator is now chosen from whether the body already ends with a comma.

Extracts the transformation to Provider::FamilyGenerator.append_source_enum_entry, a
pure string operation, and adds regression tests covering single-line and multiline
enums with and without trailing commas. Each case asserts the result actually parses:
the failure mode here is a SyntaxError surfacing in an unrelated file with nothing
pointing back at the generator, so asserting on shape alone would be too weak.

Verified the tests fail without the fix (2 failures, both trailing-comma cases).

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

* fix(generators): do not emit a leading comma into an empty source enum

Addresses review feedback. When the target has `enum :source, {}` the captured body is
empty, so the separator produced `enum :source, {, gocardless: "gocardless"}` and the
generated model failed to parse.

No separator is emitted when the body is empty. Adds regression tests for the empty
single-line and multiline forms, both asserting the result parses.

PrplHaz4andClaude Fable 5 16d2bc0ce9 Don’t re-create pending SimpleFIN transactions when pending sync is disabled (#2835)
* fix(simplefin): skip pending entries in processor when pending is disabled

When SIMPLEFIN_INCLUDE_PENDING/syncs_include_pending is off, pending rows
already stored in raw_transactions_payload were still (re)created as
entries on every sync - including ones the user manually deleted - because
the setting only affected the API request, not reprocessing of the stored
payload.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

* chore(simplefin): add rake task to prune stale pending rows from payload store

raw_transactions_payload accumulates transactions across syncs and is
never pruned, so pending rows fetched before pending inclusion was
disabled keep getting re-imported. This one-time maintenance task removes
them (dry-run by default; scope by item_id/account_id).

Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

* fix(simplefin): address PR #2835 review feedback on pending detection

Fix epoch-zero pending check treating non-numeric posted strings (e.g.
"unavailable") as pending via String#to_i coercion; compare against
explicit zero representations instead, matching posted_date. Dedupe the
prune_pending rake task's copy of this logic by delegating to a new
public SimplefinEntry::Processor.pending? class method. Also close a
test gap where SIMPLEFIN_INCLUDE_PENDING env var precedence over the
Setting wasn't actually exercised.

* test(simplefin): cover pending-guard precedence and add rake task tests

Add the missing mirror case for pending_enabled? precedence (env var
disabling pending over a permissive Setting) and add test coverage for
the prune_pending rake task, which previously had none: dry_run safety
default, correct pruning via the shared Processor.pending? predicate
(including the malformed-posted regression), and that it never touches
Entry/Transaction rows.

Stephen Jolly 27aa222ed3 Stop backfill_encryption double-encoding json/jsonb columns (#2615)
* fix(backfill): stop backfill_encryption double-encoding json/jsonb columns

security:backfill_encryption's plaintext fallback reads jsonb columns via
read_attribute_before_type_cast, which returns the JSON text; assigning
that String to the encrypted setter encrypts the text itself, so the
column thereafter decrypts to a String instead of the original
Array/Hash. Parse the raw value for json/jsonb columns before handing it
to the encryptor. Adds a regression test that fails on main.

Fixes #2611

* fix(backfill): gate backfill on nil-ness so empty values get encrypted

Addresses the Codex review comment on #2615: empty values ({}, [], \"\")
are plaintext that needs encrypting, but the present? gates skipped them,
leaving data the encrypted getters raise on once keys are live. Several
payload columns default to {}. Also applies the same nil-gate to
backfill_sessions user_agent (same idiom; precautionary). Regression
test added.

* docs(security): scope note - backfill doesn't fix any existing double-encoding

Per review: rows corrupted by the pre-fix task decrypt successfully to a
String, so this task cannot distinguish them from legitimately stored
strings; auto-repair would risk mangling valid data for a bounded, shrinking
cohort. Document the limitation and point affected operators at the manual
recovery script in #2611. Also adopt column.type over sql_type substring
matching (review nitpick); behaviour unchanged.

LPW 0a96bf199d SimpleFIN: setup UX + same-provider relink + card-replacement detection (#1493)
* SimpleFIN: setup UX + same-provider relink + card-replacement detection

Fixes three bugs and adds auto-detection for credit-card fraud replacement.

Bugs:
- Importer: per-institution auth errors no longer flip the whole item to
requires_update. Partial errors stay on sync_stats so other institutions
  keep syncing.
- Setup page: new activity badges (recent / dormant / empty / likely-closed)
  via SimplefinAccount::ActivitySummary. Likely-closed (dormant + near-zero
balance + prior history) defaults to "skip" in the type picker.
- Relink: link_existing_account allows SimpleFIN to SimpleFIN swaps by
atomically detaching the old AccountProvider inside a transaction. Adds
"Change SimpleFIN account" menu item on linked-account dropdowns.

Feature (credit-card scope only):
- SimplefinItem::ReplacementDetector runs post-sync. Pairs a linked dormant
zero-balance sfa with an unlinked active sfa at the same institution and
account type. Persists suggestions on Sync#sync_stats.
- Inline banner on the SimpleFIN item card prompts relink via CustomConfirm.
Per-pair dismiss button scoped to the current sync (resurfaces on next
sync if still applicable). Auto-suppresses once the relink has landed.

Dev tooling:
- bin/rails simplefin:seed_fraud_scenario[email] creates a realistic broken
pair for manual QA; cleanup_fraud_scenario reverses it.

* Address review feedback on #1493

- ReplacementDetector: symmetric one-to-one matching. Two dormant cards
pointing at the same active card are now both skipped — previously the
detector could emit two suggestions that would clobber each other if
  the user accepted both.
- ReplacementDetector: require non-blank institution names on both sides
before matching. Blank-vs-blank was accidentally treated as equal,
risking cross-provider false matches when SimpleFIN omitted org_data.
- ActivitySummary: fall back to "posted" when "transacted_at" is 0
(SimpleFIN's "unknown" sentinel). Integer 0 is truthy in Ruby, so the
  previous `|| fallback` short-circuited and ignored posted.
- Controller: dismiss key is now the (dormant, active) pair so dismissing
one candidate for a dormant card doesn't suppress others.
- Helper test: freeze time around "6.hours.ago" and "5.days.ago"
assertions so they don't flake when the suite runs before 06:00.

* Address second review pass on #1493

- ReplacementDetector: canonicalize account_type in one place so filtering
(supported_type?) and matching (type_matches?) agree on "credit card"
  vs "credit_card" variants.
- ReplacementDetector: skip candidates with nil current_balance. nil is
"unknown," not "zero" — previously fell back to 0 and passed the near-
zero gate, allowing suggestions without balance evidence.

Juan José MataandClaude 0fb9d60ee6 Use dependent: :purge_later for ActiveRecord attachments (#882)
* Use dependent: :purge_later for user profile_image cleanup

This is a simpler alternative to PR #787's callback-based approach.
Instead of adding a custom callback and method, we use Rails' built-in
`dependent: :purge_later` option which is already used by FamilyExport
and other models in the codebase.

This single-line change ensures orphaned ActiveStorage attachments are
automatically purged when a user is destroyed, without the overhead of
querying all attachments manually.

https://claude.ai/code/session_01Np3deHEAJqCBfz3aY7c3Tk

* Add dependent: :purge_later to all ActiveStorage attachments

Extends the attachment cleanup from PR #787 to cover ALL models with
ActiveStorage attachments, not just User.profile_image.

Models updated:
- PdfImport.pdf_file - prevents orphaned PDF files from imports
- Account.logo - prevents orphaned account logos
- PlaidItem.logo, SimplefinItem.logo, SnaptradeItem.logo,
  CoinstatsItem.logo, CoinbaseItem.logo, LunchflowItem.logo,
  MercuryItem.logo, EnableBankingItem.logo - prevents orphaned
  provider logos

This ensures that when a family is deleted (cascade from last user
purge), all associated storage files are properly cleaned up via
Rails' built-in dependent: :purge_later mechanism.

The Money::Formatting module handles locale-specific currency formatting
for French, German, Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese (Brazil), but was
missing support for Polish locale. This caused formatting issues when
users with Polish locale viewed account valuations.

- Add Polish locale handling to locale_options method
- Polish formatting uses: space as thousands delimiter, comma as
decimal separator, symbol after number ("%n %u" format)
- Add test coverage for Polish locale formatting

* Add locale support for all supported locales in Money::Formatting

Extend the Money::Formatting module to handle all locales from
SUPPORTED_LOCALES to prevent template errors when users select
different languages.

Added locale-specific formatting for:
- Turkish (tr): dot delimiter, comma separator, symbol after number
- Norwegian Bokmål (nb): space delimiter, comma separator, symbol after
- Catalan (ca): dot delimiter, comma separator, symbol after number
- Romanian (ro): dot delimiter, comma separator, symbol after number
- Dutch (nl): dot delimiter, comma separator, symbol before number

Also improved Dutch handling to work with all currencies (not just EUR).

Added comprehensive tests for:
- All newly supported locales
- Chinese (zh-CN, zh-TW) which use default English-style formatting
- A test that verifies all SUPPORTED_LOCALES can format without errors

* Fix broken money formatting tests

- Fix Chinese Traditional locale test: TWD currency uses "TW$" symbol
(prefixed with first 2 chars of ISO code to distinguish from USD)
- Fix all supported locales test: replace assert_nothing_raised (which
doesn't accept message argument in Minitest) with explicit assertions

* Refactor Money::Formatting to consolidate locale patterns

Group locales by their formatting patterns into constants to reduce
repetition and make it easier to add new locales:

- EUROPEAN_SYMBOL_AFTER: de, es, it, tr, ca, ro
(dot delimiter, comma separator, symbol after)
- SPACE_DELIMITER_SYMBOL_AFTER: pl, nb
(space delimiter, comma separator, symbol after)
- EUROPEAN_SYMBOL_BEFORE: nl, pt-BR
(dot delimiter, comma separator, symbol before)

French locale remains separate due to its unique non-breaking space usage.

foXaCeandClaude Opus 4.5 917101853b fix: Locale-aware currency formatting (#677)
* fix: Locale-aware currency formatting

Add locale-specific formatting for money display:
- French (fr): symbol after number with non-breaking space (1 000,12 €)
- German (de): symbol after number (1.000,12 €)
- Spanish (es): symbol after number (1.000,12 €)
- Italian (it): symbol after number (1.000,12 €)
- Portuguese-Brazil (pt-BR): symbol before with space (R$ 1.000,12)

This follows international conventions where most European languages
place the currency symbol after the number, unlike English.

* fix: Address CodeRabbit review comments

- Use non-breaking spaces (NBSP) for French locale formatting
- Add nil guard in locale_options to prevent NoMethodError
- Add test coverage for Portuguese (Brazil) locale

61eb611529 Simplefin enhancements v2 (#267)
* SimpleFin: metadata + merge fixes; holdings (incl. crypto) + Day Change; Sync Summary; ops rakes; lint

# Conflicts:
#	db/schema.rb

# Conflicts:
#	app/controllers/simplefin_items_controller.rb

* fix testing

* fix linting

* xfix linting x2

* Review PR #267 on we-promise/sure (SimpleFin enhancements v2). Address all 15 actionable CodeRabbit comments: Add UUID validations in rakes (e.g., simplefin_unlink), swap Ruby pattern matching/loops for efficient DB queries (e.g., where LOWER(name) LIKE ?), generate docstrings for low-coverage areas (31%), consolidate routes for simplefin_items, move view logic to helpers (e.g., format_transaction_extra), strengthen tests with exact assertions/fixtures for dedup/relink failures. Also, check for overlaps with merged #262 (merchants fix): Ensure merchant creation in simplefin_entry/processor.rb aligns with new payee-based flow and MD5 IDs; add tests for edge cases like empty payees or over-merging pendings. Prioritize security (PII redaction in logs, no hardcoded secrets).

* SimpleFin: address CodeRabbit comments (batch 1)

- Consolidate simplefin_items routes under a single resources block; keep URLs stable
- Replace inline JS with Stimulus auto-relink controller; auto-load relink modal via global modal frame
- Improve a11y in relink modal by wrapping rows in labels
- Harden unlink rake: default dry_run=true, UUID validation, redact PII in outputs, clearer errors
- Backfill rake: default dry_run=true, UUID validation; groundwork for per-SFA counters
- Fix-was-merged rake: default dry_run=true, UUID validation; clearer outputs
- Idempotent transfer auto-match (find_or_create_by! + RecordNotUnique rescue)
- Extract SimpleFin error tooltip assembly into helper and use it in view

RuboCop: maintain 2-space indentation, spaces inside array brackets, spaces after commas, and no redundant returns

* Linter noise

* removed filed commited by mistake.

* manual relink flow and tighten composite matching

* enforce manual relink UI; fix adapter keywords; guarantee extra.simplefin hash

* refactor(simplefin): extract relink service; enforce manual relink UI; tighten composite match; migration 7.2

* add provider date parser; refactor rake; move view queries; partial resilience

* run balances-only import in background job. make update flow enqueue balances-only job

* persists across all update redirects and initialize
used_manual_ids to prevent NameError in relink candidate computation.

* SimpleFin: metadata + merge fixes; holdings (incl. crypto) + Day Change; Sync Summary; ops rakes; lint

* Fixed failed test after rebase.

* scan_ruby fix

* Calming the rabbit:
Fix AccountProvider linking when accounts change
Drop the legacy unique index instead of duplicating it
Fix dynamic constant assignment
Use fixtures consistently; avoid rescue for control flow.
Replace bare rescue with explicit exception class.
Move business logic out of the view.
Critical: Transaction boundary excludes recompute phase, risking data loss.
Inconsistency between documentation and implementation for zero-error case.
Refactor to use the compute_unlinked_count helper for consistency.
Fix cleanup task default: it deletes by default.
Move sync stats computation to controller to avoid N+1 queries.
Consolidate duplicate sync query.
